Dover Motor Speedway, known worldwide as The Monster Mile and the World’s Fastest One-Mile Oval, is one of NASCAR’s most demanding, recognizable and iconic tracks. The one-mile concrete oval located in Dover, Delaware opened in 1969 and has challenged the sport’s best drivers for more than five decades. With steep 24-degree banking in the turns and a punishing racing surface, Dover has earned a reputation as a place where mistakes are costly and victories are hard-earned.
The track has hosted NASCAR Cup Series racing every year since its debut and remains a cornerstone of the sport’s schedule. From Richard Petty winning the inaugural race in 1969 to modern-day stars battling under the watch of Miles the Monster (who is always hungry for race cars!), Dover continues to produce intense racing and memorable moments. In 2026, the spotlight grows even brighter as Dover Motor Speedway hosts the NASCAR All-Star Race, bringing one of the sport’s biggest events to The Monster Mile.
